Front woods walk around to better see the ground plants. Everything you see except the tall trees I hand planted one-by-one. The two beds on either side of the path entrance are shade - left, beneath the cherry tree, mostly shaded; right, semi-shaded. The bright white plant is an azalea. In the woods, I have hostas, violets, heurachas, camellias, ferns, crocus, rhododendron, ligularia, beautyberry, Florida anise, astilbe, vinca minor, Carolina allspice, variegated wild ginger, cottoneaster, azaleas, the umbrella looking plants are the mayapples, the small white flowers are the trilliums - they both spread underground and will, I hope, end up the dominant plants, end-to-end. The brighter flowered plants are azaleas. The blue and pink are Virginia blue/pink bells, the large green patch as I turn to go back up toward the house are Japanese spurge. The small evergreen trees are a type of cedar gathered from the side woods and transplanted.
